League of Michigan Bicyclists,
410 S Cedar St, Suite A
United States

Join us at the State Capitol on May 22nd for a unique opportunity for cyclists of all abilities—casual riders and die-hards alike—to converge on the State Capitol and speak with one voice to help make Michigan bicycling better.

The most powerful way to reach your representative and senator is to meet with them in person, as a resident of their district, and share what matters most to you.

There are many ways to improve safety for all bicyclists on Michigan roadways. We have shown through past successes (like the safe passing standard and the new requirement for an hour of bicycle safety material in Michigan driver education) that all of us can move the needle when we work together. Your voice is needed in Lansing!

This year, we are targeting two major goals:

  1. Reduce distracted driving and make cyclists safer by winning passage of a hands-free driving law, which would put significant penalties in place for using a hand-held mobile phone while driving.
  2. Protect funding for non-motorized transportation by pushing back against House Bill 4410 – legislation aimed at eliminating the long-standing requirement for Michigan road agencies to spend one percent of their annual transportation funds on non-motorized safety projects.
